A muffled cry sounded out in the busy city. The strangled sound went unnoticed in the chaos of the late night traffic that filled Severance. The body fell unceremoniously to the ground with a thump. As she wiped a liquid out of the corners of her mouth, the body that had just fallen stood back up. It's movements were jerky, as if it was being controlled by strings. After a while it's movements became a slight bit more natural.
"Nice work boys, you can go now. I think I'm going to have some fun for the rest of the night, you can go." A chilling voice whispered slightly. Though her comment was unneeded to dismiss her hoard of zombies, as it was just releasing the summoning spell.
Lucia stepped out of the dark alleyway and into the dimly lit street. Not a single droplet of blood stained her attractive leather partying outfit. A sadistic smile stayed on her face for a moment, and with a turn of her neck to crack it, she moved on to the nearest place to find the night life and possibly another body to snack on.

Lukas was also taking a late night stroll. He had taken out a couple of the residential hunters about an hour ago, just a few blocks down, surely making it tougher to find any blood with any real substance left to it. He had heard the muffled cry from a few minutes ago and decided to head in that direction, fearing one of his demon brethren might be in danger. Perhaps he was fooled by the dark energy emanating from the woman down the road who had committed the act, rather than be the victim. In any case, he was on course to cross paths with the vampire.
Genocide... What crock...

'Why is it so boring tonight? Where is everybody I wonder.' But Lucia knew very well where most of Severance's inhabitants where located. They were all holed up in their little homes with their meager defenses. Like a security alarm would stop her!
Lucia ran a finger over the length of her right forearm. Her most recent victim had put up quite a fight. The people were at least somewhat prepared for an attack... not that it would help them. The rather large wound the man had inflicted wasn't that big of a deal, in fact it was in the process of closing, and there wouldn't be a scar. But even though it didn't bleed, it still stung.
Slowing walking, she eyeballed some of the clubs that she passed. "Ack... so boring tonight. If it keeps this up I'm going to have to sneak into some homes to keep myself entertained!" Lucia pouted slightly, that wouldn't be any good at all! "Oh? What is this?" She felt Lukas's chilling vibrations and thought about turning, then chose not to... Let this one come to her. Her pout quickly turned into a sadistic smirk. Maybe tonight wasn't going to be so bad after all!

And he did come. Turning the corner, Lukas could be seen donning a black trench coat, over top of a red tshirt and blue jeans, and some dusty army boots. The look on his face didn't slide a bit as he realized his victim was actually a vampire, who seemed to have taken care of the job herself. At least that was HIS impression. He DID feel the energy leave a human, so he automatically assumed the human was a hunter. In any case, Lukas smiled as he approached the woman.
"I see you've had a bit of a run-in with one of the locals, yeah?" he began, his voice as cold as winter, though still lively.

She turned her head slightly to get a good view of the source of these new dark vibrations. With a smile of her own, she slowed slightly so that they came to let the man catch up, then resumed her pace.
"Yes. Quite the troublesome lot aren't they? You've had the misfortune as well I take it?" she lilted with her own type of ice.
Lukas's voice sent a very small shiver down her spine, it was so cold! She found that with this one sentence she very much adored this stranger's voice.
But just what was this stranger? He obviously not human, not with that aura, and he didn't come off as a vampire either. She just couldn't quite place it, though it was on the tip of her tongue. What she did know though, was that this man was brethren, at least slightly. And so far, this had been the first she had come across whom could come even slightly close to this title.

"Hmm, you'd be correct in that assumption," he replied with a slight grin of his own. "It's tough being who we are in this day and age. It's not like the days of old, where the most you'd worry about it an angry mob with torches and hay forks... Nah... They have weapons now."
Lukas was quite pleased with the woman, as well. She definitely had a sense of style, in his mind at least. And the aura was resonating quite favorably. Perhaps he would make friendly with the lady. It had been decades since he had any real company.
"I'm Lukas."

She nodded her agreement and held out her arm to show him her most recent acquisition.
"It's just horrible isn't it? The guns are atrocious, and the knives are so much better quality now! And just because we're a little different, you can't go a block without getting a bullet in your back if someone recognizes you. I'd much prefer a pitchfork anymore...
"But where have my manners gone to!" Moving her uninjured arm across her torso, she held out her hand to shake hands with the half-demon. "My name is Lucia, and it's very nice to meet you Lukas."

Arieum walked out of the building, she wanted to get a feel for this city. She already had distaste for it due to the simple fact that the last time she was in a city like this she almost lost her life because a rival of Raein's decided to use her as a pawn. She shook her head at the thought of the memories, being captive was one thing she hated most. She had made it a few blocks when she heard voices up ahead. She stopped and looked for a hiding place. She wasn't in the mood to feed so maybe she'd just watch to get a better feel for this city. She walked a stone's throw away from the people talking and climbed up into an opened fire escape to listen.

"Lucia..." he said, taking her hand to shake lightly. "It's nice to be able to walk down the street in the middle of the night without a knife in the neck. This is just the wrong town for it."
He grinned at his remark when he felt more energy resonating from another angle, this energy being similar to Lucia's. He wasn't about to approach it though, as he'd rather not have his hands full in case he was about to be double-crossed.
"So how long have you been in the city?"

"Not very long myself. Just a few weeks I believe, haven't quite gotten settled in this city yet. Can't seem to find a place that will shelter me. Mind you, very precious few of the humans can even tell that I'm any different then they are really. Everyone seems to be extra suspicious of newcomers."
Lucia shrugged, "Even more so then back in the dusty days. How about you Lukas? New here as well?" She too took note of the new layer of darkness that signified one of their kind. Leaning in slightly closer to Lukas, but keeping her eyes forward she whispered lightly, "You were the first that I'd come across, but it seems that there are more of us then I previously thought. Surprising, considering the amount of hunters in this area."
Though she was keeping a great deal of her aura suppressed, the both of them combined would probably attract the attention of those who knew what they were looking for. And that didn't include the addition of the new being to the amount of energies that were being exuded.

Lukas nodded in agreement.
"Yes... I've met only one other. A man by the name of Shumei. He's been on a century-long journey. In any case, we might do ourselves some good by moving. If we are stationary for too long, we'll certainly be attacked. Perhaps our unknown acquaintance will remain here," he said, beginning to walk in the opposite direction.
"I actually came here to face the hunters head on, in truth. They've taken a great deal from me, and this seems to be their main gathering in the area. It's really quite frightening most of the time, knowing I could lose my head at any moment."

After listening for a moment and realizing that the two might be talking about Raein and herself, Arieum quickly retreats from her hidin spot and heads back towards the loft.
There are more here..... Oh, He's not gonna be happy about this.... Ugh, that smell, one of them is in league with the zombies... Their stench is so strong here.... Arieum walks back to her building and disappears inside.

"I agree," she said as she doubled back along with him. Then with a sly look, "though if they do follow us and pose a threat, I think that we can handle it."
Her face shifted slightly to add a small mix of mourning and anger to her once smiling face, "They've taken so much from all of us. They judge us all by generalizations... A lump sum."
Almost at once her gaze lit up again and her eyes filled with the same sly mysterious light, "I propose a pact! What say we work together to get rid of this horrid menace?"

"Hmmm, I suppose something could be worked out. Defeating hunters is my mission in life. I suppose it would be cool to have a partner," he said with a slight smile. If only he would've known that she was most likely speaking of humanity as a whole.
"Besides, I don't have a lot of company these days. It would be nice to spend some time with another person. And now I have two new friends, so this might not be a bad place to be after all. So I guess we're a duo. What now?"

Humans, just stepping-stones in her walk of power and manipulation. They were just toys for her enjoyment. So what that she was doing the very thing that she claimed of the hunters? Generalizing in one lump sum.
She had something in mind, something that she'd been waiting to do for a while now but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. But now that she would have help, and an added bonus! He was after these people anyway. Lucia wasn't being manipulative of her new companion, but even she didn't fail to see how this could tip the hand in her favor "
I have an idea. While out one night, I somehow came across a whole 'pharmacy' of hunters. So many of them... they were everywhere! Not to mention it doubled as a store house for a good slice of their technological gadgetry and weapons and such.
I'm honestly surprised that I got out of that one unnoticed. Thankfully I managed, and I scouted the place out every now and then. It seems that there is almost always a semi-large group of hunters there at the same time. Most of them are either drunk or distracted for their shift, so I think that with the two of us we could easily take them. And then when more come to replace them, dispatch this society of a few more of their members!"
Being very passionate towards this idea, her eyes had taken a red tinge to them. This society of hunters had been a major thorn in her side, and with their help, the police had come closer to catching her then she liked. Admittedly though, they wouldn't have had any hope either way... but still, Lucia still wanted them GONE! Before they actually started causing her trouble.
