Name: Maxwell Thatcher
Nicknames: Storm, Stormy Williams, Rain Dance, Rain Man, Max
Age: 27
Race: Human (English)
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180lbs
Hair: Messy, light brownish-blonde-like... Yeah...
Eyes: Green
Scars: Appearingly dozens of runes all over his flesh, to silently invoke his magicks.
Abilities: Maxwell has the ability to manipulate electrical current and water in several ways. In addition to possessing superior mastery of water, ice, and thunder magick, he can also use a slight form of telekinesis to manipulate water and electrical currrent, without draining his stamina for magick usage.
Also, he can communicate through telepathy, with minimal effort.
Defects: Maxwell, is a mute. He can hear, yes, but he cannot speak. A childhood illness stripped Maxwell of his ability to speak. However, this had made it possible for him to increase his abilities in telepathy, not to mention his focus in general. However, if he's severely weakened, he will have a hard time communicating that he needs help.
Also, Maxwell tends to have fainting spells from time to time.
Weapon(s)/Form(s) of Combat: Generally, Maxwell sticks to his magick and manipulation of water and electricity, though he is quite skilled at using the staff he carries with him on his back.
Signature Weapon: a 5-foot staff he would call "Selmer", if he could speak.
Family: Father and mother living quite well on the other end of Severance.
Background: Maxwell, is quite the character. In his own mind at least. Struck by an illness when he was only a child, his ability to speak was stripped away from him before he could really learn to speak to begin with. Doctors and scientists have offered him many alternative modes for speaking, but all were denied. He took an interest in sign language instead. Sign language would always be there for him, without the hassle of charging and recharging some mechanical means of speaking. At least this way, he isn't suspected right off as a guy with powers.
Speaking of his powers, he didn't just get them over night. He wasn't born with them either. Maxwell is 100% human. His powers actually came out of his interest in fantasy novels, about wizards, mages, knights, etc. He found himself getting into roleplaying games, more reading, and eventually into shops claiming to sell enchanted items. After shopping several stores (which turned out to only sell D&D miniatures), he stumbled upon one store in Severance, called "The Singing Sword". The shopkeeper was an aged man, appearing to be in his 70s with this long, untidy, white hair and beard. He looked more like a prospector than a shopkeeper. However, it was that very man who introduced Rain to the world of fantasy, which turned out to be real after all.
After a dozen years of training, and working in that shop, Maxwell developed a strong mastery of water and electricity (his favorite elements), while taking classes at a dojo around the corner to hone his skills at the staff (his favorite weapon). The shopkeeper finally passed away, leaving the store and all it's secrets to his favorite employee and apprentice, Maxwell. The shop is still going strong at the south side of Severance, just a few blocks from the beach.
Why a man would leave a shop to a mute, the world will never know. He usually has someone do all the talking for him though.
Current Status: Alive and well, working at The Singing Sword.
Appearance: Tall, kinda skinny but not really. Usually wears flannel shirts with a white v-neck shirt under them. Blue jeans and black Converse to really drive the grunge look home.
